You Need A Video, Now What?

You need a video. Now What? Well, you’ve come to the right place (I’m only slightly biased). Every video project is different. But here at PEG, we are going to work with you to answer a few basic questions when kicking off a new video project. These key questions help us put together a proposal and a concept that is right for you and keep everything on track throughout the entire video project process. If you’ve never done a video project before, this may seem somewhat intimidating. But I have put together a few things to focus on, some questions to ask your self, when starting a video project.

1. What is the purpose of the video?

This is a pretty broad question, but every video has a purpose. Whether it’s a call to action from the audience, an internal business message or telling new customers about your company - setting the purpose of the video will ensure the right messaging is being portrayed throughout. If it helps, you can think about your purpose in a traditional "Who, What, Where, When, Why?" sense. “Who is the target audience?” "What do I want them to do?" "Where and When will this video be used?" "Why are we making this video?" These questions are can help point you in the right direction and get your ready for question #2.

2. What style of video?

There are countless ways to tell a story though video. Sometimes it's animated, sometimes it's narrative, sometimes it's interview-based. They each serve a purpose and can be the right answer depending on the situation. And it doesn't matter if you come to us with an example, an idea, half an idea or nothing. Even if you don’t have an idea of the style of video, we can help brainstorm and concept a creative way to make your video piece standout. Have a video that really inspired you? Or you are looking to revamp a video you created in the past? We can handle any type of project, so bring it our way and let's start that conversation!

3. What is your budget?

This is everyone’s least favorite topic. but generally it's a very important one. We will likely ask you about this upfront, because this allows us to be respectful of what you are looking for. You don't need to have exact numbers, but even a rough estimate will help us better understand your project. Here at PEG, we try to be as flexible as possible when it comes to putting together a quote or proposal so you can get exactly what you need. We have a wide variety of gear in a variety of price ranges, so that we can work best within your budget and put together a great video.   I hope that helps ease any stress you might have about approaching a new video project! Now that you know some of these key questions and important information we will ask about when starting a project, feel free to reach out. And even if you don’t have all of the answers, no worries! We can work together to better understand how to make the most out of your video project.
